An outbuilding that does not ask for attention
In August the outbuilding is almost folded into the greenery. Grey wood, a dark doorway and ferns do not feel styled; they are simply this place's summer companions. Corners like this are easy to miss until a photograph makes us look properly.
Restoration does not mean every old building must become smooth and new. First we want to understand its own character and the care it needs. This entry keeps the starting view so that there is something honest to compare with later.
